Bright Start
Bright Start is a voluntary no-cost program where highly educated nurses visit low-income women in their homes during their first pregnancy and throughout the first three years of their children’s lives.
Each summer Bright Start hosts a “Summer Safety/Fun Day” which is an opportunity to gather their clients and create an opportunity for them to learn from each other and form relationships with other families. In addition, they add a teaching component as an underlying theme. This year for the training element they will focus on Summer Safety, discussing appropriate use of sun screen, bug spray, and basic First Aid. Bright Start would like to gather and put together gift baskets for each client. The “gift basket” is a sand pail and they will be filled with the following summer safety/fun items:
- bug spray
- sun screen
- Bubbles
- sidewalk chalk
- kids Band-aids
- First Aid ointment.
Donations of any of the above items may be dropped of at any of our Life 96.5 Sticker Stops or any of the 5 Sioux Falls Lewis Store locations.
