The world got a wonderul and beautiful lesson about judging a book by it’s cover. Recently on an airing of Britains Got Talent, a woman named Susan Boyle came out on the stage. Susan is a plain older woman, not at all what the world would deem as a “star” that is until she opened her mouth to sing. Turst me, this is a you tube hit you won’t want to miss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

Weather Partly cloudy and 53 and tomorrow partly cloudy 59!

Dave and I wish you a very Happy Good Friday today. We were talking this morning about the mixed feelings we have about today. The word “Good” doesn’t seem right knowing the pain and suffering Jesus went through for our sins. Yet, Good in the way that it was fulfilling God’s promise to give followers of Christ eternal life. We hope you have a blessed Easter! We want to encourage you to read more about the true meaning of this day and the entire Easter weekend in these passages:

Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30. Read more »

Today:

Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53.

Todays Life Promise: Psalm 4:4-5 Do not sin by letting anger gain control over you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.

Today is Maundy Thursday, also known as “Holy Thursday” celebrated the day before Good Friday. Two important events are the focus of Maundy Thursday. First Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples and second, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an act of humility and service which set an example that we should love and serve one another in humility . You can read more about these important events at John 13.  Read more »

Today:

Sunny, with a high near 46.

Dave and I talked about the encouraging news about how 20 – 29 year old view faith and Christianity today. Here’s results from a recent survey.

UNDATED (FR) – A majority of young adults have a positive view of Christianity. 74% of 20 to 29 year olds say the Christian faith is relevant for today. Lifeway Research interviewed 1000 young adults and found that they are looking for a sense of community. They also want depth in the sermons and teaching, a church that’s engaged in a hurting world, and cross-generational relationships.

Today:

Scattered flurries before 7am. Partly cloudy, with a high near 39 with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Today is April 1st! April Fools Day! Thanks for the fun suggestions of pranks. Some that we heard were about toothpaste in the middle of oreo cookies, sewing your husbands socks halfway down so he can’t put them on and our favorite was the coffee mug taped to the top of the car. Then when you are at a stop light and people are waving for you to see the mug, you hold up a cardboard sign that says “gotcha!” :)
