Perspective on the Fargo Flooding

From someone who’s living through it – our sister station Life 97.9’s (Fargo Moorhead) Mid-day announcer, Laura Livingood. She joined me on the afternoon show today, and here’s our full interview.

Mandisa’s Journey

Most folks don’t have a life changing moment on national television. Even fewer have a positive experience that alters the rest of their life stem from a vicious insult received on live television. But that’s exactly what happened to Christian musician Mandisa. Christianity Today details the rather astounding tale here.

Beware the Bear

Ever since Teddy Roosevelt spared a young bear’s life on one of his many hunts, the nation has loved Teddy Bears. But apparently they can also be deadly choking hazzards! YIKES! See this little guy? You could choke on him if you were a small child.

Michael Tait to Be Newsboys’ New Lead Singer

WOW! It appears that arguably the two greatest Christian bands of all time may be making a sort of trade. Michael Tait, formerly one-third of the immutable DC Talk or one fourth if you count Toby Mac’s facial hair), is rumored (and the rumors are quickly stacking up to a mighty weight) all over the inter-web to be coming to serve as the new lead singer of the Newsboys. No word yet on why Peter Furler would be leaving the group he helped found two decades ago.dc_talk-1

The Newsboy’s official facebook group says an announcement can be expected later today.

Beliefnet.com offers an explanation of all the rumors out there… including a report that the Boys themselves announced this would happen last night at a concert in Texas.

This would be pretty big news if it happened! What do you think? Can the Jesus Freak potentially feel at home Entertaining Angles?!

Updating! — It’s official. Newsboys.com reporting that Tait joins the group as lead singer.

Wisdom Teeth and Paul Harvey

One of the lion’s of modern broadcast history passed away this weekend – Paul Harvey. A neat tribute article is on CNN.com.

Now, I remember having my wisdom teeth plucked from my mouth. Actually, I don’t remember that exact moment. I remember sitting down in the dentist’s chair, getting super sleepy almost in an instant and then waking up and being a zombie… not literally but you get what I mean. New scientific ponderings say it looks like the removal of those cruel teeth will be increasingly necessary for pretty much everyone.

God bless, and have a tremendous Monday.
