CARAMEL CORN IS A MUST AT MY HOUSE FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND SUPER EASY! I GIVE IT AWAY TO NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY…YEP, PRETTY SURE THEY EXPECT IT TOO! PUTTING IT IN BAGS TO GIVE AWAY SOUNDS LIKE THIS: “ONE FOR ME, ONE FOR YOU, ONE FOR ME, ONE FOR YOU…”
Ingredients
1 Bag of Old Dutch Puffcorn
1 Cup of Butter (Not Margarine)
1 1/4 Cups of Brown Sugar
2/3 Cup of Light Corn Syrup
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 250°F.
- Combine butter, brown sugar, and light corn syrup in a 2 quart sauce pan.
- Cook on medium heat until mixture has melted.
- Once mixture has melted add the baking soda. (Note: This will cause the mixture to foam)
- In a large roaster pan pour Old Dutch Puffcorn and pour caramel mixture over the Old Dutch Puffcorn and stir until mixed.
- Place in oven for 45 minutes, stirring at least every 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, pour on wax paper and break apart.
- Let cool and ENJOY

Ever since my friend a few years back introduced me to these little pieces of heaven…they have become a staple on my holiday “to-make” list!
It’s one of the easiest things to make…but not responsible if they happen to take the place of your breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Warning – may wake up in the middle of the night craving one…but, watch out…you can’t just eat one!!
Here ya go…
Mix 8 oz softened cream cheese with 16 oz pkg of Oreo cookies (crushed)
Roll into balls – about the size of walnuts (bite size)
Set them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and put into freezer for an hour
Heat up choc almond bark in the microwave (Every 30 sec stir and then keep doing 30 sec increments until melted)
Drop Oreo balls into the chocolate, move them around to cover them with chocolate, then scoop them out with a spoon and set them on the cookie sheet to dry. You can use a spoon or your fingers, doesn’t matter- whatever works to get them covered with chocolate!
After all the balls are covered with choc and dried, melt some white almond bark and place in a Ziploc bag, snip off the corner and drizzle white choc over the balls to make it look professional! Mix it up a bit and coat the Oreo balls in white choc and drizzle choc almond bark over them, sprinkle choc sprinkles on them, or sprinkle with some leftover crushed Oreo cookies…oh, I can’t wait anymore…I am So going home and making these today!!!
ENJOY!!!

This morning Dave and I talked about sugar and it’s downsides that maybe you didn’t know. It’s extremely additive and research shows that the very sight of it triggers a reaction similiar to what’s stimulated to drug use. Here’s the article if you want more information.

It’s true! I saw Him myself at our first (and last) family yardsale we had Saturday! And I have a sneaking suspicion that He’ll be making His rounds to lots of other sales too.
Jim and I feel lead to sell our home so we’ve been cleaning out like crazy and decided to have our first yardsale. Even though we were shivering under electric blankets and sitting next to space heaters and I caught a cold, it was all worth having!
I discovered that we had close to a dozen older bibles and TONS of Christian reading books so we put them in a FREE box and let the Holy Spirit move. It was about the coolest thing I could describe to you!
What opportunities to share Christ. Some customers actually sat down and we talked about faith, where they have been and what’s going on in their lives today. What a blessing. I can’t even tell you how worth it it is to put those books in a FREE box and let the fun begin! – Suz
How Forgiven are you? Well … God tells us in Psalm 103:12 that “He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.” Wow! Wow Wow!
Oh, but I can hear you now. You’re saying “sure, but Suz, you don’t know how bad some of the stuff is that I’ve done. I can’t be forgiven for … (insert sins here).
God isn’t just saying that He forgives your sins as far as the east is from the west to make you feel better. He says it because IT’S TRUE! Maybe if you’re not feeling forgiven it’s because you keep hanging onto it and can’t forgive yourself. I understand, I’ve done that too many times myself! Let’s just remember that we are precious, loved and FORGIVEN children of Christ!

Joe and Matt 2009
What happened to those little boys
I only blinked one time
Guess I knew it was gonna happen
Growing up, its is not a crime
But before I blinked I saw you boys
Your age is five and three
You can’t be playing college ball
I mean you’re still hitting off a tee!
And theres no way that you are dating
We were just going to the park
Do your girlfriends understand
You need to be home before dark?!?
And now I hear you talking
Someday you’ll get engaged
The next thing you will tell me is
Your room’s been painted beige!
What happened to those little boys
Well, they’ve grown to be great men
And soon my sons you’ll understand
When that cycle starts again.
Love you Joe and Matt. So very very proud of you both!
Mom

Lauren and Suz have been talking about the importance of having that one special “best girlfriend”. But what exactly seperates regular friends from that one best friend? Tell us what you think!
Here’s Suz’s best girlfriend, Bren.

Chessa : My “best friend” can read me. When I’m having just one of those days they know and react without me having to ask. I have friends who I can turn to when I need someone to talk to, but that one special friend doesn’t need me to even say anything they just know.
Mary : I have lots of good friends, and we chat, but we don’t get in depth like I do with my best friend. With other friends phone calls are short and direct…but last night I talked to my best friend for almost 2 hours! Even when our beliefs are different, I can tell her anything and there’s no judgement, just sister-like love.
Carla : Best Friends know when you are in the “desert”. They don’t condemn you, they don’t criticize you, they don’t offer all kinds of solutions to ‘make it better’. They pray for you and just spend time with you. Sometimes laughing, sometimes crying and sometimes, just being silent.
This morning Dave and I were talking about how I don’t cook, can’t cook, don’t like to cook, whatever. I feel intimidated by people who do cook. My husband is perfectly happy with crock pot meals and pre-made entrees but every couple months I get a case of the “woman guilts”. One Life 96.5 friend e-mailed this to me for encouragement. Do you have any encouragement you can share too? – Suzanne Lynn
Hi Suzanne!
I heard you on the radio this morning while taking my husband to work – I always love listening to you guys in the morning
Anyways – this morning you were talking about cooking and how you felt. I can say that there are SOOO many who feel the same way as you!
God has blessed me with an amazing outreach and I think it would be a perfect solution for you, if you’re interested. I hold what’s called “freezer cooking” every once in a while. Basically you sign up, do 1 prep item and then come on the day of freezer cooking. You get to cook with a bunch of ladies (I pair you up) and you go home with 10 meals! Typically it costs about $10 a meal…. all I do is go grocery shopping and divide up the receipts between how many people come
Anyways – feel free to check out my site:

I always get so many moms who love this because most of the time picky eaters will eat the meal, most of them are healthy, it’s cheaper than eating out and typically 8 out of 10 can be put in the crockpot in the morning and forgotten about until dinner time!
Just know you’re not alone and this could be the perfect solution for you!

Ok, we’re constantly on our kids about too much time on those video games!
But are we, as adults, just as guilty or even worse? I’ve recently learned the pleasures of a video game called Angy Birds. I love it. I can’t help it. I have it downloaded on my phone and the music is even my ringtone now!
But I’m trying to find balance in my life. So for every minute per day that I spend playing Angry Birds, (or skee ball or …) I match that same amount of time by spending it in the bible.
It’s great to have things in our lives that are distractions, as long as we keep a healthy balance. How do you keep in balance? – Suzanne Lynn
